Geotab provides specialized data for harsh driving (accelerating, braking, cornering, etc.) and collision reconstruction using our patented algorithms and the GO device’s accelerometer. When a suspected collision is detected, detailed forensic data is automatically uploaded from the GO device to enable reconstruction of the event - even in the case of collisions in reverse. The initial damage report is issued via e-mail and desktop alerts.
Geotab uses authentication, encryption and message integrity verification for the Geotab GO vehicle tracking devices and network interfaces. Each Geotab GO device has a unique ID and a non-static security key, making it difficult to fake the identity of a device. OTA (over-the-air) updates use digitally signed firmware to verify that updates come from a trusted source.

The compact Geotab GO9 vehicle tracking device is connected directly to your vehicle’s OBD-II port or, for vehicles without such a port, via an adapter. No antenna or wire splice connection is required for this. The installation process is quick and easy and requires no special tools or professional installers.
Simple installation: Simply connect the GO9 device to the OBD-II interface of your vehicle or, if required, “via” an adapter. The device now performs an automatic calibration. Further information can be found in the installation instructions.
